What implementing uFlow looks like
A five-stage process, with our team beside you at every step. From the first discovery session to the first decision in production.
Implementing a decision engine is not installing software and walking away. At uFlow the process is built so your risk team ends up operating the platform on its own, with our support at every stage. How long it takes depends on the integrations, the security processes and your institution's internal approvals, but the path is always the same: discover, build, train, test and go live.
1. Kick-off and discovery
We start with your team. We map how you assess credit today —what data you use, what rules you apply, where the bottlenecks are— and define together which policies get automated first. This produces the work plan, with owners and deliverables for each stage.
You don't need to arrive with everything figured out: part of the value of this stage is putting the current process in order before automating it. You can see the product in detail on the decision engine.
- A review of your current assessment process and its data sources.
- A decision on which policies get automated first, and on what basis.
- A work plan with owners, deliverables and an agreed timeline.
2. Policy build and integrations
Your risk team builds the policies in the visual editor —cutoff rules, decision trees, scorecards, matrices— while we connect the platform to your systems and data sources through the REST API. Risk works on the governance of the decision; we and your IT team, on the integration.
This is where uFlow's division of labor shows: IT doesn't have to develop each rule, it handles integration, architecture and security. The data sources are detailed on integrated data providers.
- Policies built by your risk team in the visual editor, no coding.
- Integration with your core, onboarding or channels through the REST API.
- Connection to bureaus and data sources, with fallback handling.
3. Training
We train your risk and technology teams so they can operate the platform and change policies without depending on us. It's a stage of its own, not an afterthought: the goal of the project is for your team to be autonomous, and that is built here.
Training covers both the use of the editor and versioning and the technical side of integration and monitoring. The terms that come up are defined in the glossary.
- Risk-team training on the editor, versioning and testing.
- Technical-team training on integration, monitoring and access.
- The goal is autonomy: your team operating without depending on uFlow.
4. Testing
Before any decision affects a real customer, everything is validated in the testing environment with real cases. Results are compared, policies are adjusted, and the behavior against data sources that fail or lag is tested. Only when the result is what you expect do you move forward.
This stage is what lets you go live with confidence, and it's also where a new policy is tested against the current one when appropriate.
- Validation in a testing environment separate from production.
- Comparison of results with real cases before go live.
- Testing behavior against data-source latency and failures.
5. Go live
Production release with versioning and traceability from day one: every decision is recorded with its input, the rules applied and the outcome. This is not the end of the support, it's the start of operations: we stay beside you through the first cycles to adjust whatever is needed.
From here your team changes policies in hours, not weeks, with controlled reactivation of earlier versions as a safety net. How we protect all of this is covered on security.
- Production go-live with per-decision traceability from day one.
- Support through the first operating cycles.
- Your team changes policies autonomously, with versioning and controlled rollback.
Everything you need to know
How long does it take to implement uFlow?+
A typical implementation is completed in weeks, not months. The exact timeline depends on the number of integrations, your institution's security and due-diligence processes, and its internal approval times. The kick-off agrees on a realistic schedule with those variables on the table.
What does my IT team need to do?+
IT handles the REST API integration, architecture and security, but does not have to develop each credit policy: the risk team does that in the visual editor. uFlow does not replace IT, it reduces its involvement in day-to-day changes so it can focus on integration and governance.
Do you support us after go live?+
Yes. Support does not end at production: we stay beside you through the first operating cycles to adjust whatever is needed. The goal of the project is for your team to operate autonomously, which is why training is a stage of its own in the process.
Can we test before affecting real decisions?+
Yes. Before go live, everything is validated in a separate testing environment with real cases, and the behavior against data sources that fail or lag is tested. No decision affects a customer until the result in testing is what you expect.
