What is Test environment?

Product

An environment is an isolated space where policies are designed and tested without affecting real decisions. Separating testing from production lets you experiment with new rules at no risk to the portfolio or the applicant experience.

Why it matters

Testing on production is the fastest way to turn a design mistake into a portfolio problem. With separate environments, a policy can go through its whole cycle (build, test, fix) before touching a real application.

It is also a common requirement in regulated institutions, where change control demands evidence that what was published had been tested first.

  • Design and testing with no impact on real decisions.
  • Change control with evidence prior to publishing.
  • Lets you grant access to profiles that must not touch production.
FAQ

Common questions

Can a user be limited to test policies?+

Yes. Permissions are assigned per user, so a profile can work only on test policies with no access to production ones.
